Operation Christmas Child
A reminder that the shoeboxes for our Operation Christmas Child are due by Monday, November 12th. Thank you in advance for your participation! Remember to include $9.00 for postage. We look forward to seeing how many lives we can change through this small act of giving and are excited to see God work in a mighty way again this year! “One box=one child.”
Heritage Farm Christmas Village
We are replacing the 5K with a different opportunity for celebrating the Christmas season as a Covenant community. This year on December 1st, we will spend the evening at Heritage Farm’s Christmas Village. You’ll find details about this event on the pdf attached to this email.
We receive a group rate if we pre-order our tickets. If you’re interested in attending, please send money to pre-order your tickets to the school by November 13th. Tickets are $5/person, but ages 2 and under are free. Our teachers will have an envelope to receive your order. Just send an envelope with your name, number of tickets you need, and cash to buy those tickets. Cash is preferred in this case, but you could also write a check to Covenant School. We will order the tickets and return them to you. If you have multiple students in the school, you can send the entire pre-order to just one class. (Note: This is not a fundraiser at all, we are not asking for donations or making any money on the ticket sales.) Also, your pre-ordered tickets are not refundable or transferable, so they will only work on the evening of December 1st. You can also buy tickets on the day of the event, but the cost will increase to $10 per adult. We hope you will join us for this time of fellowship!
Early Out Next Wednesday
Next Wednesday, November 14th, will be an 11:30 a.m. dismissal due to an event at the church. This dismissal will be in the back of the church building only. There will be no indoor pickup on that day.
WOW! What a great season for Volleyball! This was the first year that we had an official Middle School team and the girls did great! We can see that the future is going to be very bright for Covenant Volleyball. The High School team had a fantastic season. The girls ended with a winning record and had some of the most exciting games that we have seen at Covenant in a long time. The fan support was huge this year and the student section was amazing! Thank you to everyone that came out and cheered on both the Middle School and High School teams. We would also like to thank our seven seniors for their hard work and dedication to the team.
Box Tops For Education
Congratulations to Mrs. Stanley’s class for submitting the most Box Tops for the collection in September! We will have another collection taken up before Christmas break, so please keep sending in those Box Tops. The school made over $500 last year!
Please be conscientious when scheduling doctors, dentists, etc. appointments for your children. When possible, please schedule all appointments for Wednesday afternoons to alleviate students from missing instructional time in class. If you are picking up your child/children early during school time, please let the teacher know in advance to give them time to pack-up your child’s papers, books, etc.
Safe Driving on School Premises
Please remember to drive slowly (12 miles per hour or under) when pulling onto the school premises. A few parents have been seen driving very fast in the mornings to avoid their child/children being tardy. Please be cautious! This is the entrance for the pre-school children and parents and we need to be mindful that they are walking across the parking lot. Thank you!
Substitute Teachers Needed
We are in need of substitute teachers for the school. If you are interested in applying to be on our sub list, please email Melody at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Snow Days and Colder Weather
As the weather becomes colder and snow begins to make threats outside, students (and teachers) begin to mention snow days. Please see the list below of ways that we will communicate with you if school will be cancelled or on a 2-hour delay. Please do not call or text the faculty/staff personally.
In the event of snow, school cancellation will be announced the following ways:
- On our school voice mail – Dial 304-781-6741
- School-wide “Remind” message from the Administrative Office.
- TV Channels 3 and 13. We will be listed as Covenant School.
- Please note, if you would like to receive a text message or email notification, please sign up for that at WSAZ.com.
Please remember we go outside for recess until the temperature goes below 35 degrees; please send coats and gloves with your children. Students will not be able to go outside at recess without a coat on chilly days.
Also, remember to put your child’s name in all clothing items, including winter coats, and also in lunch boxes. This way we can return the items to you if they are left at school.
Lunch out Refunds on Snow Days
With the possibility of snow days in the future, we want to let you know of our refund policy. You will receive one coupon around the first of March (when the winter season is over) that can be used for lunch out from then until the end of the year. The amount will be for all of the snow days that were missed for each child in your family. This way the days out will be totaled all at once, not each time we have a snow day.
