Heritage Farm Christmas Village
This Saturday from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. is Covenant’s visit to the Heritage Farm Christmas Village. The tickets that were purchased were sent home yesterday. We have 4 extra tickets for sale for $5.00 each. If you would like to purchase one or more, please call the school. We look forward to a fun evening of fellowship with our Covenant family.
Today is Giving Tuesday, a day to celebrate and promote charitable giving. Please consider making a donation to Covenant’s Annual Fund. You can mail donations to Covenant School, 2400 Johnstown Road, Huntington, WV 25701, or donate online at https://www.covenantschoolwv.org/donate/. We are raising funds to hire a lead humanities teacher for 2019, and no matter what the size of the donation, any gift helps our mission and shows support for Covenant School.
This Thursday and Friday, November 29 and 30, the 6th grade will be sponsoring a Christmas Store at Covenant. Items will be set-up in Room 102 and will be sold for $2.00 each. This is an opportunity for our students to shop for their families and friends! Proceeds will go towards the 6th grade trip to Gettysburg.
Substitute Teachers Needed
We are in need of substitute teachers for the school. If you are interested in applying to be on our sub list, please email Melody at email@example.com.
Snow Days and Colder Weather
As the weather becomes colder and snow begins to make threats outside, students (and teachersJ) begin to mention snow days. Please see the list below of ways that we will communicate with you if school will be cancelled or on a 2-hour delay. Please do not call or text the faculty/staff personally.
In the event of snow, school cancellation will be announced the following ways:
- On our school voice mail – Dial 304-781-6741
- School-wide “Remind” message from the Administrative Office.
- TV Channels 3 and 13. We will be listed as Covenant School.
- Please note, if you would like to receive a text message or email notification, please sign up for that at WSAZ.com.
Please remember that we go outside for recess until the temperature goes below 35 degrees; please send coats and gloves with your children. Students will not be able to go outside at recess without a coat on chilly days.
Please be sure to put your child’s name in all clothing items, including winter coats, and also in lunch boxes. This way we can return the items to you if they are left at school.
Lunch out Refunds on Snow Days
With the possibility of snow days in the future, we want to let you know of our refund policy. You will receive one coupon around the first of March (when the winter season is over) that can be used for lunch out from then until the end of the year. The amount will be for all of the snow days that were missed for each child in your family. This way the days out will be totaled all at once, not each time we have a snow day.
